LICENSED ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS

It is the law that only electrical contractors licensed by

the Electrical Contractor Registration Agency of the

Electrical Safety Authority (ECRA/ESA) are permitted to

do electrical work anywhere in Ontario.  It is illegal to hire

an unlicensed contractor to perform electrical work.  With

the introduction of the ECRA/ESA licence, a unified,

mandatory province-wide electrical standard was formed.

It is there to protect consumers.  In fact, every licensed

electrical contractor is required to display it's licence

number in "every aspect of their business".  This includes

contracts, advertisements, vehicles, websites,

correspondences - any medium used to communicate

with the public.  Hiring a certified ECRA/ESA licensed

electrical contractor is the law !
